KUALA LUMPUR: There is a heavy police presence along the road heading towards Parliament on Monday (Aug 2).
This is in anticipation of several opposition lawmakers including Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is expected to go Parliament at about 9.30am despite the final day of the Parliament’s five-day special sitting being postponed to a date that will be announced later.
Muar lawmaker Syed Saddiq is also expected to go to Parliament.
On Sunday (Aug 1), The Health Ministry advised that the Parliament sitting and meetings at its premises be postponed for two weeks, starting July 29.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the suggestion was made based on the health risk assessment and to prevent transmission of Covid-19 in Parliament.-The Star
