Covid-19: 2,875 new cases, Kelantan has most infections with 662

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has recorded 2,875 new cases, bringing the nation’s cumulative total to 384,688.

In a tweet on Thursday (April 22), the Health Ministry said of the figure, 2,846 were local infections while 29 were imported cases.

Seven more people succumbed to Covid-19, bringing the country’s death toll to 1,407.

It also said there were 2,541 recoveries, for a total of 361,267 to date.

The number of active cases is now 22,014.

Of this number, 248 are in intensive care units (ICU), with 115 requiring ventilator support.

Kelantan was the state with the most new infections at 662, followed by Selangor (633), Sarawak (474) and Kuala Lumpur (332).This is the eighth consecutive day with the number of cases above 2,000.- The Star
