PUTRAJAYA: Driving institutes will be allowed to start operations beginning Feb 12, says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said this was agreed upon after listening to a presentation by the Transport Ministry Transport on the matter.
“Driving institutes will be allowed to operate and will be required to ensure standard operating procedures (SOP) are followed strictly by personnel as well candidates, ” he said on Thursday (Feb 11).
The permission entails driving curriculum classes, pre-driving test as well as practical sessions.
Operating hours will be from 7.30am to 8pm and the use of face masks by the driving trainer as well as trainees is compulsory.
Institutes are also required to ensure that candidates are only present for their sessions and must not be allowed to wait.
Sanitisation is also a must each time a car is used for a lesson or test.
Ismail Sabri also said that flight academies are also allowed to begin operations beginning Friday with SOP in place.- The Star
