PETALING JAYA: The government has further streamlined its list of essential services allowed during the movement control order to include the digital creative content industry.
The new list includes a total of 52 items and specifies work in the sector as content development in studio which includes film editing as an essential service.
The new list can be found on the International Trade and Industry Ministry’s website under SOPs and Gazette.
It also further specifies areas under e-commerce, communications and information technology services.
The new list dated Jan 21 now lists sectors under e-commerce to include e-marketplace, digital payment and local e-commerce services centre.
Meanwhile, the list also specifies communication services to include telecommunications and Internet, postal and courier and broadcasting while information technology services include global business services and call centres.
The list comes into effect starting Friday (Jan 22) until Feb 4 in Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Melaka, Negri Sembilan, Pahang, Penang, Perak, Perlis, Sabah, Selangor, Terengganu, Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan and Sibu in Sarawak.
All of these areas are being placed under a MCO until Feb 4 except Sibu, where the MCO will end on Jan 29.
