In a joint statement, the MPs said they had written a letter to Annuar on Dec 7, objecting to the terms of reference and meeting procedures of the committee, which is said to be a replacement of the Federal Territories minister’s council under the Pakatan Harapan government.

They said they had also requested for a meeting with Annuar to discuss the committee’s terms, as well as the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and Federal Territory ministry’s budgets for the year.

“Unfortunately, to date, we have not received any feedback from the minister regarding the letter,” said the statement, signed by Fahmi Fadzil (Lembah Pantai), Teresa Kok (Seputeh), Hannah Yeoh (Segambut), Tan Kok Wai (Cheras), Fong Kui Lun (Bukit Bintang), Dr Tan Yee Kew (Wangsa Maju), Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad (Setiawangsa), P Prabakaran (Batu) and Lim Lip Eng (Kepong).

“We urge the minister to respond to the letter and to call for a special meeting with Federal Territory MPs immediately before the first committee meeting is held.”- FMT
