KUANTAN, Oct 30 — A storm damaged about 37 houses in a housing estate in Indera Mahkota here yesterday.

District Police chief ACP Mohamad Noor Yusof Ali said the police received 37 reports regarding the incident in Indera Mahkota 2 housing estate as well being informed about incidents of uprooted trees and fallen branches.
He said a 14-year-old teenager suffered severe head injuries after being hit by fallen branch while he was riding a motorcycle in the residential area.
The teenager is currently undergoing treatment at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA), he told reporters today.

Meanwhile, a resident Mohd Hafizal Mohd Saidi, 30, said the incident occurred at about 8 pm and strong winds lifted the roof of his home.
Another resident, Khairuddin Abd Manan, 51, said the storm left his belongings and furniture soaking wet. – BERNAMA
