JOHOR BARU: Ten nurses from the royal ward of Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA) each received a brand new car from the Sultan of Johor.
Photos of the happy recipients with their shiny new Perodua Myvi were shared on Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar’s official Facebook page on Tuesday (Sept 29).
The grand gesture was in appreciation of the nurses’ services to the sultan and the Johor royal family over the years, read the statement posted along with the photos.
Matron Rokian Samin, who has been serving in the hospital’s royal ward since 2006, thanked Sultan Ibrahim.
“It really is very meaningful for us and our families, and we will pray for the health and well-being of His Majesty and the entire royal family, ” she said.
Her colleague Nuraini Aziz, 28, turned up at the car handover ceremony despite having just given birth three days earlier.
“Thankfully, I feel fine enough to come as this is a special moment for me.
“We will continue to serve His Majesty and the royal family to the best of our abilities, ” she added.
