98 new Covid-19 deaths reported, Sarawak tops list with 29

PETALING JAYA: The health ministry reported 98 Covid-19 deaths yesterday, according to its GitHub database.

The death toll now stands at 28,674.

Thirty-two of the deaths were classified as brought-in-dead.

Sarawak topped the list of fatalities with 29, followed by Perak (11), Kelantan (10), Johor and Sabah (9 each), Kuala Lumpur (6), Melaka (5), Kedah and Pahang (4 each), Negeri Sembilan, Penang and Terengganu (3 each) and Perlis and Selangor (1 each).

There were no deaths in Labuan and Putrajaya.

As of midnight last night, there were 71,713 active cases, including 562 in intensive care units (ICU), 292 of whom require respiratory assistance.

There were also 7,595 recoveries reported, bringing the total number of those discharged to 2,340,390.

The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia now stands at 2,448,372.-FMT
