PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has reported 5,244 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.

In a tweet, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 711,006.

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 2,001.
This was followed by Negeri Sembilan (677), Sarawak (577), Kuala Lumpur (531), Johor (282), Pahang (245), Kedah (189), Melaka (180), Penang (159), Sabah (129), Kelantan (81), Labuan (77), Perak (75), Terengganu (27), Putrajaya (13) and Perlis (1).-FMT
