26 districts classified as red zones in past 14 days – CPRC

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 — A total of 26 districts nationwide have been classified as red zones in the period of 14 days from Oct 7 to 20, according to the Ministry of Health’s Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC).

Based on the list provided by the CPRC, Sabah recorded the highest number of red zones with 16 districts while Selangor recorded five districts, two districts each in Kedah (Kota Setar and Pokok Sena) and Penang (Timur Laut and Seberang Perai Selatan), with one in Perak which is Larut, Matang, Selama district.

In Sabah, it involves the districts of Lahad Datu, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tuaran, Kunak, Papar, Semporna, Tawau, Putatan, Penampang, Ranau, Beaufort, Kota Belud, Keningau, Tambunan and Kudat.

The five districts in Selangor are Klang, Petaling, Hulu Langat, Gombak and Kuala Langat.

In terms of mukim, in Kedah the red zones involve Kota Setar and Gajah Mati; Penang (Georgetown and Mukim 6); Perak (Taiping); and Selangor (Klang, Kapar, Sungai Buloh, Petaling, Damansara, Kajang and Tanjung Dua Belas (1)).

Apart from that, red zones mukim in Sabah involve Lahad Datu (Bandar, Silabukan and Felda area); Kota Kinabalu (Laut, Likas, Pantai, Sembulan, Darat, Kamung Air, Petagas and Tanjung Aru); Sandakan (Sentosa, Karamunting, Beatrice, Batu Sapi, Sibuga and Pantai Elopura) and Tuaran (Indai, Serusup and Tambalang).

Other mukim are Kunak (Pekan); Papar (Pengalit/ Kawang and Labak/ Kinarut); Semporna (Bugaya and Tampi-Tampi); Tawau (Sri Tanjung, Merotai and Balung); Putatan (Petagas and Lok Kawi); Penampang (Kepayan and Penampang Baru); Kota Belud (Kulambai); and Kudat (Tiga Papan). – BERNAMA
