IPOH: Twenty-two out of the 23 foreign workers that were not found at the Anjung Tawas Damai Flats on Monday (March 1) have been located.
Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz (pic) said the 22 garment factory workers were staying in another address and had been found last night.
“The factory’s human resource department did not update their latest address.
“With this information, we found them last night and they have been admitted to a quarantine and treatment centre,” he said in a statement.
“They will be transferred to the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park (MAEPS) Serdang today,” he said.
Comm A. Asmadi had told a press conference yesterday that the foreign workers could not be located at the five-storey hostel, which had been placed under enhanced movement control order.
The EMCO was implemented at the flats after Covid-19 cases had been detected at the factory.
A total of 377 residents at the flats, including 43 locals, have tested positive for Covid-19.- The Star
