PETALING JAYA: The 20 millionth Covid-19 vaccine dose is expected to be administered today.
According to the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV), 19,502,452 doses have been given so far, with over half the country’s adult population having received at least one dose of the vaccine.
A total of 556,404 doses were administered yesterday, the fourth straight day the country has managed to give over half a million jabs.
Labuan leads the way in the percentage of both first dose and second dose recipients.
Nearly 90.8% of its adult population has received at least one dose and 79.2% have been fully vaccinated, putting them close to being the first territory to reach the 80% benchmark, long regarded as representing herd immunity.
Labuan is followed by Sarawak (61.3%), Perlis (41.1%) and the Klang Valley (32.6%). In the Klang Valley, 87.8% of the adults have been given at least one dose.-FMT
